The Last Apprentice: Curse of the Bane (Book 2) - Joseph Delaney I love how straightforward these books are. It's a very quick and engaging read with great illustrations. The story gets darker this time, addressing subjects such as torture and religious beliefs, and there's also a considerable increase in casualties faced by the main characters. I liked the previous book better, probably because the first one dealt with evil magical beings mostly, and the second one is more about the evil within humans and the consequences of making certain decisions. I'm hoping the story goes back to the magical side on the next installment, which I'm reading for sure!
